The Atlanta Braves have traded minor league outfielder Mitch Jones to the Pittsburgh Pirates for cash. The 32-year-old outfielder is batting .250 for Triple-A Gwinnett with 18 homers and 45 RBIs in 89 games. He will go to Pittsburgh's Triple-A team in Indianapolis. Jones has played eight games in the majors, getting promoted by the Dodgers last June.

Pittsburgh Pirates starter Ross Ohlendorf left the game in the first inning Wednesday night after being struck in the right side of his face by a line drive hit by Colorado's Troy Tulowitzki. Ohlendorf gave up three hard-hit balls to start the game. Seth Smith led off with a single to right but was doubled off first when Jonathan Herrera lined out to second.
