I am a huge sports fan, and one of the things I love the most about sports is the traditions associated with the different professional and amateur leagues and teams. Some of these traditions are well known and widely popular, such as the playing of the National Anthem before a contest and others may be more associated with a region which we all learned this past summer during the Soccer World Cup when the vuvuzela was introduced to the rest of the world.

Boston Red Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield knew all about Roberto Clemente's legacy coming up in the Pittsburgh organization. Wakefield vowed to be an example of Clemente's commitment to giving back. Wakefield received the 2010 Roberto Clemente Award on Thursday night, given annually to a major league player who gives back through community service and also excels on the field.
