Pirates’ Ohlendorf leaves game in first

Pittsburgh Pirates starter Ross Ohlendorf left the game in the first inning Wednesday night after being struck in the right side of his face by a line drive hit by Colorado's Troy Tulowitzki. Ohlendorf gave up three hard-hit balls to start the game. Seth Smith led off with a single to right but was doubled off first when Jonathan Herrera lined out to second.

The Pirates placed catcher Ryan Doumit on the 15-day disabled list with a concussion and recalled Jason Jaramillo from Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday.
