The Pirates were excited about what Ross Ohlendorf could do this season after he had an outstanding second half in 2009, going 4-3 with a 2.83 ERA in 11 starts after the All-Star break. However, Ohlendorf has been limited to one start this season because of back spasms.

Ohlendorf is scheduled to come off the disabled list Monday and start that night against Cincinnati. The Pirates announced on Thursday that Ohlendorf is ready to rejoin the rotation after he pitched four scoreless innings Wednesday for Class AA Altoona on a rehabilitation assignment.

Ohlendorf allowed three hits to Richmond while walking one and striking out six. He threw 41 of his 59 pitches for strikes.
