BREAKING: Baseball’s MVP awards have been announced and the world is still spinning.
After months of debate and name-calling from supporters on both sides, Detroit Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera won his first American League MVP award on Thursday, beating out Los Angeles Angels phenom Mike Trout in a sizable victory. Cabrera took first place on 22 of 28 ballots, beating Trout 362-281 in overall points. Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre took third. BBWAA.com has the full results .

San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey took home the NL MVP award, earning the first-place vote on 27 of 32 ballots. Milwaukee Brewers left fielder Ryan Braun finished a distant second and Pittsburgh Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen placed third. BBWAA.com also has the full results .
